It has been a terrible summer with record heatwave conditions. Critterrescue volunteers have taken too many abandoned & neglected pets into care. The drought has meant alot of local people just cant feed their farmyard animals and the Xmas holiday period has meant alot of people have just abandoned their pet dog/cat/guinea pigs/birds etc to go away on holidays. The Draw of the Critter Rescue Xmas Hamper was an exciting morning! The bag of raffle tickets was full (big thankyou to all those who supported us by selling or buying tickets). The official witnesses assembled (Rooster Guy, Rooster Girl, the Principal Kearsley Primary School, the boss of Goldmans Produce Store). Then local Cessnock City Councillor James Ryan arrived and drew the Winner (see photos below):
